Wolfpack fires program record in air rifle on Saturday
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The 10th-ranked NC State rifle team completed action at The Citadel Sunday afternoon with a win against the host Bulldogs. On Saturday, the Wolfpack suffered its first loss of the season to No. 7 Nebraska, but finished first in the third South Eastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) match of the season.

Sunday the Pack defeated The Citadel to wrap up competition at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.

NC State improves to 15-1 and 14-0 in SEARC action, while the Wolfpack moves to 1-1 in Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) events.

Highlights from Saturday
- The Wolfpack finished with a total team score of 4636, the second highest in program history. NC State fired a program best 2352 in the air rifle competition and a score of 2284 in smallbore.
- Junior Lucas Kozeniesky headlined the Pack's performance in air rifle with a school record score of 595 to claim first place.
- Caitlyn Ford, a sophomore from Fairfax Station, Va., posted the Wolfpack's second-best score with a personal best 589 to finish fourth.
- Seniors Daniel Cliff and Alex Martin each fired a score of 584, along with sophomore Derya Pekari to tie for eighth place. The score matched Martin's personal best and was Pekari's highest score ever fired in the event.

- In smallbore, Kozeniesky and Martin led the way for the Wolfpack as each charted a score of 578, which tied for third place.
- Pekari and freshman William Marciniak tallied a score of 564 to share eighth place. Ford rounded out the lineup for NC State and recorded a total of 553.
- Nebraska claimed first place at the event with a total team score of 4666 (2357 air rifle, 2309 smallbore). NCSU was second, while North Georgia took third (4513) and Georgia Southern was fourth (4451).
