RALEIGH – The NC State men's golf team completed the first day of play at the 2015 Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate on Monday. Through one round of play at a windy and wet Lonnie Poole Golf Course, the Pack sits tied for third among 16 teams with a team score of 292 (+8).

Jacob McBride led the way for the Wolfpack on Monday, carding an even-par 71 to rank tied for fifth in the field of 91 golfers. Teammate Davis Richards was just one stroke behind, shooting a 72 (+1) to end the first round tied for eighth place.

The course and conditions were unforgiving on Monday, as only four golfers shot below par. The average score on the course was a 75.64 and only two holes (1 and 6) recorded an average score below par. (Hole 18 played the toughest, at +0.67 strokes compared to par.)

Senior David Cooke, who claimed first place in both home Wolfpack events last season, was held out of the NC State lineup due to injury.

FRESHMEN MAKING IT COUNT
First-year students Davis Richards and Nolan Mills Jr. improved their "rounds counted" totals on Monday. Richards has had his rounds finish within the team's top four a perfect 7-for-7 times while Mills is a solid 5-for-7.

TUESDAY TEE TIMES
Seeded tee times for the final round are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. The Wolfpack team will tee off between 9:30 and 10:06 from hole one while NC State's individuals will begin between 9:57 and 10:15 from hole 10.
