Weather Delays Continue at ITF Charleston 10K

Martina Frantova of the women's tennis team has advanced to the quarterfinals after two days of delayed play at the ITF Charleston 10K tournament
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Play at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Charleston 10K tournament was delayed for a second day due to rain on Saturday. Inclement weather suspended play on Thursday afternoon and has yet to resume.

Martina Frantova of the Wolfpack women's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinal round of main draw play on Saturday following match retirement. Frantova faced off against No. 655 Natalia Siedliska (GER) in the round of 16 on Thursday.

Play was suspended due to weather during the second set with Frantova conquering 6-2 in the first and down 1-4 in the second set at the time of call.
Â
Tournament play did not resume on Friday or Saturday due to continued rain and the match was officially retired on Saturday morning.

Round one of the main draw resumed Thursday morning after being postponed Wednesday afternoon due to lightning. Frantova defeated No. 1025 Madeleine Kobelt (USA) 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8).

Frantova will continue play at the ITF Charleston 10K on Sunday in the quarterfinal round, set to face off against No. 900 Francesca Di Lorenzo (USA).
