NC State's Zach Knudson provided a breathtaking bicycle kick equalizer to earn the result

No. 21 NC State men's soccer earned a 1-1 (2OT) draw with No. 7 Notre Dame on Sunday at Dail Soccer Stadium behind Zach Knudson's bicycle kick on an assist from Julius Duchscherer.
The Wolfpack (6-2-2, 1-1-2 ACC) dominated the first half, outshooting a Notre Dame (7-2-2, 2-1-1) team ranked as highly as No. 4 in the Soccer America poll 11-1, but found themselves in a 1-0 halftime deficit.
The Irish scored in the 34th minute on its first corner kick of the match, which produced a header inside the right post.
NC State knotted the score in the 76th minute when Duchscherer chipped forward to Knudson, who unfurled the acrobatic equalizer to the left side of the net. The goal represents Knudson's fourth of the year, good for the team lead. Duchscherer's assist marks his second of the season.
The Pack battled through two scoreless overtime periods before settling for the tie. State outshot the Irish 23-11 in the match, 22-5 through regulation, but ended up with just one score to show for the effort. The Wolfpack forced five Notre Dame saves to one, earning 10 corners to five for the Irish.
Wolfpack soccer's 1990 ACC Champion, Final Four squad was honored on field at halftime.
NC State returns to action Friday, October 9, hosting Wake Forest at 7 PM.
