Fender, McCauley Named Academic All-District

NC State’s Holden Fender and Alex McCauley take the first step toward capturing a CoSIDA Academic All-America mention

NC State's Holden Fender and Alex McCauley were named Academic All-District, according to a release from CoSIDA on Thursday.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Both Fender and McCauley make their first appearances on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for the Wolfpack.

The pair of seniors have started all 15 matches for the Pack this season, representing two of the most critical pieces of an improved defense that has pushed State into the national spotlight and to the verge of an NCAA Tournament bid.
