SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The NC State cross country program will compete in its second meet of the season at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. The meet features several ranked teams and is the first chance of the season to get criteria points towards earning a bid for the NCAA Championships.
The women's team is slated to open the race at 2:00 p.m. ET. The men will lineup at 2:45 p.m., and the combined men's and women's open race is slated for 3:30 p.m.

Fans who want to watch the meet live can take in the action through Flotrack's live broadcast. Additionally, the USTFCCCA National Results Wall features live video, live results and splits and a social media feed with tweets and Instagram posts from competing teams.
What to Watch For:
The Red and White have another chance to exercise its depth and find out where runners stand in regards to intra-squad competition. Without some of the most experienced runners in the lineup, the NC State men's and women's team had a combined 18 runners earn top-15 times in two races at the adidas XC Challenge. This weekend's open race provides an opportunity for underclassmen to find their way into the season's lineup.
Record Watch:
Freshman Ryen Frazier broke WakeMed Soccer Park's 5k course record last week with a time of 16:06.5. Notre Dame's 5K course record is currently 16:09.3. A repeat performance from Frazier could lead to another course record for the Raleigh native.
Charged Up:
After resting several members from both the men's and women's teams during the opening race, the Wolfpack will compete at Notre Dame with some of its strongest runners. Sam Parsons, a 2014 NCAA Cross Country qualifier and two-time track All-American Meron Simon will make season debuts for the men, while Samantha George and Erika Kemp will return for the women. George posted a 5,000m time of 15:51.74, and Kemp qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 5,000m during the 2015 outdoor track season. Additionally, several freshmen will be back in action after redshirting the 2014-15 track seasons.
