Q: How does it feel to be in your second semester of college already?
“It’s crazy. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by.”
Q: Talk about your first semester at NC State went.
“It was tough in the beginning, but I ended the semester pretty well. I made a lot of progress from the start of the semester to the end of it, so I’m proud of how I finished my first semester of college.”
Q: What was the biggest adjustment from high school to college?
“Organization and making sure that I’m on top of everything. It’s about getting things that you need to get done now and not putting them off until later.”
Q: Talk about how your first exam went.
“I learn pretty much by repetition in everything I do, whether it’s in athletics or academics. I went over my notes time and time again and I also worked with my tutor to make sure I was prepared for my exams. I also used some flashcards to help prepare me and test my knowledge before exams.”
Q: What class was your first exam in and how did it go?
“English. I think it went pretty well. I was nervous for my first college exam, but it went well.”
Q: How did it feel to go home over the Christmas break to unwind and spend some time with family?
“It was amazing. I got to spend some time with family and family is really important to me. Even though they can’t be here in Raleigh with me, it’s good to know that they are still supporting me from Washington.”
Q: Talk about how the fall season went for you and adjusting to the college game.
“It was pretty tough, I think I could have done a lot better but I learned a lot from those experiences. I was really disappointed at first, but I realized that I have to start somewhere and the fall season is there so that you can learn.”
Q: What are you most looking forward to in the season?
“Winning. I’m excited to show my family, hometown and friends how much I’ve improved since I’ve been here at NC State. They’ve all watched me develop and I want them to see how far I’ve come.”
Q: What was the best gift you received for Christmas this year?
“Bose headphones.”
