
Pack Places Ninth at 2014 ACC Championship

NEW LONDON, N.C. – The NC State men’s golf team completed the third and final round of play at the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship on Sunday afternoon. With a three-round team score of 882 (+18), the Wolfpack finished ninth.
NC State tied for its best score of the tournament on Sunday, carding a 293 (+5) at the Old North State Country Club.
No. 5 Georgia Tech won the tournament, shooting a three-round score of 839 (-25). The Yellow Jackets were followed by No. 19 Florida State and its score of 845 (-19).
Carter Page led the way for the Wolfpack at the Championship, tying for 23rd in the field of 60 golfers with his three-round score of 217 (+1). Two of his three rounds at the competition were shot at or under par.
David Cooke and Logan Harrell were NC State’s next finishers, tying for 40th and 43rd, respectively. Cooke shot a score of 223 (+7) through his three rounds and Harrell ended with a 224 (+8).
Rounding out NC State’s participation at the competition were James Chapman and Jacob McBride. Chapman shot his best round of the tournament (72) on Sunday and ended with a 226 (+10) to tie for 51st. McBride dropped nine strokes from his Saturday score to end tied for 56th with a 227 (+11).
