RALEIGH, N.C. - Over 50 NC State student-athletes visited 15 area elementary schools last week, participating in the 17th annual Wolfpack Blitz. The Wolfpack Blitz is an opportunity for local elementary schools to have NC State student-athletes speak to students on issues relevant to Character Education traits.
Local grade schools were visited throughout the week by Wolfpack student-athletes who spoke to audiences ranging from 20-100 students.
"The Wolfpack Blitz week is an opportunity for NC State student-athletes to speak to Wake County kids about responsibility, integrity, and kindness," said assistant AD for student-athlete development Tonya Washington. "Our student-athletes enjoy using the platform of athletics to encourage young kids to do their best in school and in their sports."
Many of the student-athletes were grouped together to deliver messages dealing with topics such as respect, perseverance, and courage; cooperation and responsibility; self-discipline and the importance of education and character education to meet goals.
