Pack Set for Weekend Matches at UVa, Va. Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. – Less than a week after its 4-3 upset victory against No. 12 Notre Dame, the NC State men’s tennis team will travel to the Commonwealth of Virginia for a pair of matches against reigning NCAA Champion Virginia and Virginia Tech.
The Pack will face the Cavaliers at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 11, before playing at Virginia Tech Sunday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m.
Last time out, the Pack posted a thrilling 4-3 victory over No. 12 Notre Dame on Senior Day at Dail Outdoor Tennis Stadium. The Pack captured the doubles point for the 17th time this season, before junior Robbie Mudge sealed the team victory with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win at the No. 2 position.
Reigning NCAA Champion and fifth-ranked Virginia comes into Friday’s match with 17-2 record, including a perfect 8-0 mark in the ACC. The Cavaliers last defeated Georgia Tech on Saturday, 7-0, for their eighth consecutive victory. Last season, the Wolfpack dropped its match against UVa in Raleigh, 7-0.
State will travel to No. 42 Virginia Tech on Sunday, April 13 for a match set to begin at 1:30 p.m. The Hokies come into play this weekend with an 11-8 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the conference. Last season, State suffered a hard-fought 4-3 loss to Virginia Tech in Raleigh.
