Walters Ties for Second at Joburg Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – Former NC State men’s golfer Justin Walters took a share of second place in the Joburg Open in his homecoming at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club this past weekend.
Part of the European Tour, the Joburg Open hosted a field of 210 golfers. A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Walters finished with a -16 score of 271. Walters had a terrific showing at the course, recording 21 birdies and one eagle over the course of four rounds.
With the second-place finish, Walters earned €101,097 in prize money.
This finish on the Euro Tour also earned Walters a birth in the British Open, which will take place on July 17-20 at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Merseyside, England.
