Wolfpack Drops Final Game Of 2014 To Cincinnati 76-60

RALEIGH, NC - The NC State men's basketball team closed the non-ACC portion of its schedule and the 2014 calendar year with a 76-60 loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday. The Wolfpack into the bulk of ACC play with a 10-4 record (1-0 ACC).
Despite trailing by 19 at multiple points in the game, NC State cut the lead to 10 on two different occasions. Cincinnati held off the late push from the Pack and went on a 13-5 in the final 3:29 of the game. UC led 41-26 at halftime and led for more than 37 minutes on the day.
Anthony 'Cat' Barber scored a team-high 15 points while going 7-for-11 from the field. Kyle Washington added a balanced performance with 10 points and six rebounds. Abdul-Malik Abu added nine points and five rebounds.
Cincinnati's Shaq Thomas led the Bearcats (9-3) with 15 points. Troy Caupain added 13 points and Clayton, N.C., native Gary Clark tallied nine points and four rebounds.
Up Next: On Saturday, Jan. 3 NC State welcomes Pittsburgh to PNC Arena for the team's first contest of 2015. The noon game will be televised on the ACC Network. State is already off to a 1-0 start in ACC play after defeating Wake Forest on Dec. 6.
