VILLANOVA, Pa. – The NC State women’s basketball team (9-4) fell on the road to Villanova in its final action of the 2014 calendar year, losing by a final score of 74-65. A hot-shooting second half by the Wildcats—which featured 10 made three pointers—proved to be the difference in the contest.

“Villanova did a really good job of exploiting the people who were not defending well tonight,” head coach Wes Moore said. “We can’t worry about being shorthanded. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us, so we’ve got to fight, and we’ve got to battle.
“I’m not one to give up or back down, so we’re going to have to find a way to get it done.”
The Wolfpack was without the services of freshman Chloe Jackson and regular starter Krystal Barrett, both of whom are out with injuries.
Three Wolfpackers scored in double figures, as Dominique Wilson (19 points), Miah Spencer (18 points, 7-9 FG), and Jennifer Mathurin (10 points) all had strong offensive showings. Len’Nique Brown-Hoskin collected 10 rebounds for the second straight game while Spencer added six rebounds and five assists to her scoring efforts.
