@PackSwimDive to Compete at Winter National Championships

RALEIGH, N.C.- Several swimmers will represent NC State Swimming and Diving at the AT&T Winter National Championships Dec. 3-6 in Greensboro, N.C., inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The meet provides an opportunity for Wolfpack swimmers to compete one last time in the 2014 portion of its schedule. NC State is slated to compete in 10 events throughout the final three days of the championships.
Holloway's Statement
"We're going to have a small presence at Winter Nationals this week. It's not our main focus in the fall semester, and with us starting exams it's very difficult to get a team environment over in Greensboro for the full weekend.
"We're trying to find small pockets where we can go represent NC State and have a nice presence over in Greensboro because it's close by. At the meet we have limited our athletes' workload due to exams but none the less, it's a great opportunity to get up and race and enjoy the competition."- Braden Holloway, head coach
Last Time Out
The men's squad captured the team title with 1521 points at the Nike Cup Invitational, hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill Nov. 20-22. The women finished third in the team standings with 2059 points behind Tennessee and UNC-Chapel Hill.
At the invitational three school records were broken, as freshman Anton Ipsen set new records in the 500 and 1650 freestyle events and diver Rachel Mumma broke the one-meter diving record to take first place honors in the event.
Wolfpack in the National Rankings
The Wolfpack men remain in the top portion of the CSCAA NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Rankings, listed at No. 10 in the most recent poll release. The NC State women remain at No. 20 in the national rankings.
About the Winter National Championships
The first day of competition, Dec. 3, will consist of timed finals, which are set to begin at 6 p.m. For the other three days preliminaries will begin each day at 9 a.m., followed by finals each evening at 5 p.m.
