
Purdue Holds Off Wolfpack In ACC-Big Ten Challenge

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Playing its first road game of the season, the NC State men's basketball team was edged 66-61 at Mackey Arena on Tuesday night.
Kyle Washington scored a career-high 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Trevor Lacey added 15 points for the Wolfpack (6-1).
Turning Point: With the game tied at 56, Purdue made 3 of 4 foul shots and reserve guard PJ Thompson hit a 3-pointer with 4:58 remaining. Purdue would not relinquish the lead.
1st Half: Purdue had the early momentum, leading 14-6 and forcing a Wolfpack timeout. The score was 21-13 in favor of the Boilermakers when State ripped off a 7-0 run to make it 21-20. The two teams traded hoops until Purdue took a 36-34 lead at halftime. Washington scored eight points in the opening period.
