Q: Talk about your first semester at NC State.
"My first semester of college has been a mixture of things. It was stressful at times, but definitely a learning experience and it has been really fun at the same time. Obviously, it was a big change from high school, which I expected."
Q: What was the biggest adjustment from high school to college?
"The individuality. Not having someone to tell you what time to get up for class or when to study for a test. Just learning how to be an adult and do things on my own."
Q: How has studying for exams been going for you?
"Finals week is always tough and it can be stressful, but it's been going pretty well. The resources we have at State really help out a lot. Being able to go to Case Academic Center for study hall has been a huge help."
Q: Talk about how your first exam went.
"My first exam was environmental science and I think I did really well on it. I was a little nervous, but once I actually saw the questions on the exam I knew that I was ready for it."
Q: How well did you balance softball practice with your academics during the first semester?
"I'm used to balancing academics with softball, so that wasn't a problem for me. Softball is my getaway and it really allows me to relax and clear my mind. Being on the field, I kind of just forget about everything else and focus on softball."
Q: How excited are you about the season starting in the spring?
"I'm ecstatic, I can't wait. I guess you could say I'm excited and nervous at the same time because it will be my first college softball season."
Q: What's the number one item on your Christmas list?
"A new phone. I dropped my phone and shattered it, so I need a new phone. An iPhone 6 or and iPhone 6 plus would be nice!"
