Wolfpack Falls at Home to Georgia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. - Holding a 13-7 lead late in the first quarter, NC State surrendered 28 straight points and fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 56-23 Saturday afternoon. Georgia Tech used its triple-option running attack and totaled 64 rushing attempts compared to just 8 pass attempts, and also added a pair of defensive scores in the second quarter.
WOLFPACK DRIVE OF THE GAME - 1st Half

After falling behind 7-0, NC State took the ensuing kickoff for its first touchdown of the day to close the gap to 7-6, after a blocked extra point. The Pack went 75 yards on 9-plays, capped by a Jacoby Brissett 15 yard touchdown run. On the drive, Brissett rushed three times for 45 yards - and accounted for 72 of the total yards (including drawing a personal foul on a late hit out-of-bounds).

On its first possession of the fourth quarter NC State went 6 plays, 75 yards capped by a 19-yard Jacoby Brissett to David J. Ginnage touchdown. On the drive, Brissett was 3-of-3 for 71 yards through the air, while Grinnage caught his fourth TD in the last four games - and now is tied for the team lead in TD receptions.

NOTABLES
• NC State played a 4-3 defense today for the first time this season. Sr. Art Norman, normally a starter at DE, played OLB today. Both MLBs, Airius Moore and Jerod Fernandez, started in the middle.
• With a 46-yard field goal and a pair of extra points, PK Niklas Sade is now just one point shy of tying the school record for career points (Ted Brown, 1975-78 - 312 points),

The Pack returns to Carter-Finley next weekend, hosting Wake Forest in the home finale at 3 p.m. In addition to Senior Day, the Pack will also be celebrating Military Appreciation Day.
