Men's Tennis Concludes Play at UVa Ranked + 1

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Senior Sean Weber and junior Robbie Mudge each posted singles victories on Sunday, as the NC State men’s tennis team completed play at the UVa Ranked + 1 Invitational.
A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mudge overwhelmed Hunter Koontz of Virginia Tech, 6-4, 6-0, while Weber won his match in a decisive third set, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, against Carlos Benito of Georgia Tech.
In the orange draw, sophomore Simon Norenius fell in three sets to 33rd-ranked Rafael Aita of UNC Wilmington, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, while freshman Nick Horton fought hard but fell to Virginia’s JC Aragone, 7-5, 7-6, in his third-place match in the blue draw.
Up next, the Pack will send representatives to play in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., beginning Sept. 28.
