Arcara, Retter Finish Eighth in Synchronized Three-Meter Springboard

IOWA CITY, Iowa – NC State redshirt senior Chris Arcara and sophomore Charles Retter of the swimming & diving team finished eighth in the synchronized three-meter springboard competition Friday at the AT&T United States National Championships.
Arcara and Retter posted a final score of 298.20 on a list of six dives. The tandem’s highest scoring dive came on the fourth attempt, where they totaled a 59.40 on an inward 2 ½ somersault with a 3.0 degree of difficulty from the pike position.
Retter posted the second highest scoring dive of the year for the Wolfpack in 2012-13 on the three-meter springboard with a 335.10 total score against North Carolina, while Arcara notched the third best score with a 317.10 against the Tar Heels.
The AT&T US National Championships will conclude Sunday, Aug. 18.
