Bilis Clinches Spot in 100 Free Semis at WUG

KAZAN, RUSSIA - NC State sophomore Simonas Bilis clinched a spot in the semifinals of the 100 freestyle at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia, Saturday morning.
The Panevezys, Lithuania native registered a personal-best time of 50.03 in the preliminaries to win his heat and claim a spot in the semifinals. His time in the event topped his previous best by almost a full second. He set that mark two weeks ago when he won the Lithuanian Nationals.
The semifinals are slated to get underway later Saturday evening and the finals session will be held on Sunday, July 14.
