Pack Softball Signs 5 in Early Signing Period
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball coach Shawn Rychcik has added three more players to his 2014 recruiting class, giving the Wolfpack eight newcomers for next season, the coach announced on Thursday.
Joining the program when school begins next fall will be outfielder Jordan Aughinbaugh of St. Mary's Ryken High School in Port Tobacco, Md.; infielder Molly Martin of North Surry High School in Mount Airy, N.C.; and catcher Morgan Medford of Hobgood Academy in Whitakers, N.C.
"I'm excited about adding three more players to our roster for next season," said first-year head coach Shawn Rychcik. "We add depth all around, with an infielder, an outfielder and a catcher.
"They will give us more options throughout our lineup."
The Wolfpack currently has 14 players on its roster, including seniors Caitlin Dent, Katie Mansilla and Bethaney Wells. Next year's squad is now slated to have 19.
All three signed their national letters of intent this week. They will join five others who signed during the early signing period last fall.
