State Swimming & Diving Completes Day Two at NCAA's

INDIANAPOLIS - The NC State women's swimming & diving team wrapped up competition on day two of the NCAA Championships, Friday, Mar. 22. The Pack competed in the 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, 100 backstroke and three-meter dive.
The Wolfpack began the day with the 200 yard medley relay event. Hannah Freyman, Lauren Poli, Zina Grogg and Riki Bonnema teamed up to record a time of 1:40.10. Freyman led the relay off with a time of 25.66 in her backstroke swim, followed by Poli with a 28.44 in the breaststroke portion. Grogg swam a 23.62 in the butterfly segment and Bonnema ended with a 22.38 in the freestyle.
Grogg also competed as an individual in the 100 backstroke event, touching the wall with a time of 53.91.
State turned in a time of 7:18.41 in the 800 freestyle relay, as Freyman, Marifrances Henley, Kristin Connors and Allison Hendren swam the event.
In diving, senior Hannah Hopkins and sophomore Rachel Mumma competed on the three-meter diving board. Hopkins finished with a score of 293.30, while Mumma scored a 259.10.
NC State will conclude action at the 2013 NCAA Championships, Saturday, Mar. 23, with preliminary rounds at 11 a.m. and finals at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack will compete in the 400 freestyle relay, Henley will swim the 100 freestyle and Hopkins will take part in the platform diving event.
