RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track & field team will open its 2013 outdoor season, Mar. 14-16, at the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C. The meet will be hosted by UNC Charlotte at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
The Wolfpack closed out the indoor season at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., last weekend, where seniors Ryan Hill, Kris Kornegay-Gober and Karimah Shepherd earned All-America honors in their respective events.
The men’s team returns All-Americans in Hill and thrower Nathaniel Williams (discus), in addition to Kornegay-Gober who was an NCAA qualifier during the 2012 outdoor season.
The women’s team returns two-time All-American Andie Cozzarelli (10,000 meters) and 2011 All-American Kenyetta Iyevbele (800 meters). Redshirt sophomore Tremanisha Taylor qualified for the NCAA Championships in the women’s shot put last season, and leads a group of women’s throwers who emerged during the indoor season.
