Swimming & Diving Announces 2012-13 Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C.-- NC State swimming and diving head coach Braden Holloway announced the program's 2012-13 schedule on Wednesday. The team will once again face a challenging slate including the ACC schedule, five non-conference opponents, and invitational meets.
"One of our goals was to get a couple of new teams to swim against, the ones we know are going to test us and bring out the best in us to prepare us for the end of the year," said Holloway.
The Wolfpack will begin the season with its annual Red/White/Black Intrasquad meet held at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center, the date and time of this event has not been announced.
NC State will play host to the All North Carolina Invite that will feature teams from across the state October 5-6 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. Specific start times for the event have not been released, but the meet will begin in the afternoon on Friday and morning on Saturday.
"The invite will be a great event to bring our state closer together in the college ranks," Holloway said. "It will allow a lot of teams to compete against teams they do not usually have the opportunity to race against."
The team will take to the road at the end of October as the men travel to Los Angeles, Calif. to compete against the University of Southern California and the women travel to Baton Rouge, La. to take on Louisiana State.
State will host four home meets this season against East Carolina (Nov. 2), Virginia Tech (Jan. 16), Georgia Tech and Florida State (Jan. 19 tri-meet), and North Carolina (Feb. 2) on senior night.
The ACC Championships will be held in Greensboro, N.C., with the women's swimming along with men's and women's diving taking place Feb. 20-23, and men's swimming slated for Feb. 27- Mar. 2.
