GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State junior guard Marissa Kastanek landed on the 2012 ACC Women's Basketball All-Tournament First Team on Sunday.
The Lincoln, Neb., native averaged a team-leading 15.7 points per game during the ninth-seeded Wolfpack's historic run into the ACC Tournament semifinals last week.
She scored a team-high 21 points in the 74-71 victory over No. 9-seed Florida State on Thursday.
The next day she scored 16 points in the monumental 75-73 victory over top-seed and No. 5 Duke on Friday afternoon. The win marked the first time the No. 1 seed ever lost to a team ranked eight or nine the conference tournament.
Kastanek added 10 points in the loss to No. 15 Georgia Tech in the semifinals on Saturday.
The honorable mention All-ACC selection shot 54.8 percent (17-of-31) from the field in the three games, and 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from beyond the arc.
She also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
NC State (18-15) will likely receive a bid to the Postseason Women's NIT the evening of Monday, March 12.
