NC State Diving To Compete At Zones

RALEIGH, N.C. - Five members of the NC State diving team will compete in the NCAA Zone B Diving meet beginning tomorrow. The competition will take place at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Ala. Hudson Rains, Ryan Smith, Hannah Hopkins, Kirstyn Shepler and Rachel Mumma will all participate in the event.
Hopkins and Shepler both earned All-ACC accolades on the boards in 2010, with Hopkins narrowly missing earning that honor again this season with a fourth-place finish on the platform dive. Rains qualified for the finals on the 3-meter at the ACC Championships this season, placing eighth.
More than 80 divers from six different states will compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships. 10 women and eight men will advance from the Zone meet.
