RALEIGH, N.C. – No. 6 Miami defeated NC State, 6-1, at the J.W. Isenhower Tennis Center on Sunday. No. 60 Joelle Kissell picked up her third straight win, topping No. 20 Anna Barenstein, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.
The Hurricanes swept the doubles action to claim the point and take an early 1-0 lead. Weather forced the match to move inside following the doubles contests.
No. 60 Joelle Kissell topped No. 20 Anna Barenstein in a 10 point tie-breaker to pick up a point for NC State. Kissell is now 11-5 in singles this season, and has defeated six ranked opponents. Barenstein is the highest ranked foe that Kissell has knocked off this season.
The Pack will return to action on Saturday, March 31, against Virginia. The match will take place at 1 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhower Tennis Center.
