Hopkins Heads To NCAAs

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will get underway on Thursday, March 15, in Auburn, Ala. NC State qualified one diver, Hannah Hopkins, to the event.
Hopkins will participate on the platform, with preliminaries beginning on Saturday, and finals being conducted on Sunday.
Hopkins punched her ticket to the championships by placing fourth on the platform at the NCAA Zone B Qualifying meet. She became the first NC State diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Kristin Davies did so in 2009. Davies also qualfied on the platform, and took home the national title in that event.
Hopkins, who was the 2010 ACC Champion on the platform, finished the preliminaries in third with a mark of 278.80 to qualify to the finals, before taking fourth place in the finals with a combined score of 542.00.
