NC State Heads To Last Chance Meet

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State will send six members of the women's swim team to the Bulldog Last Chance Meet in Athens, Ga., this weekend. The competition will be held at the Gabrielsen Natatorium, and will run from Sat., Feb. 25 until Sunday, Feb. 26.
Preliminaries will be held at 10 a.m. each day, with finals taking place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Live results will be available at georgiadogs.com.
Marifrances Henley, Zina Grogg, Hannah Freyman, Allison Hendren, Lauren Poli and Julianna Prim will all be competing in the meet for NC State. Freyman has posted three NCAA B cuts, Henley, Grogg and Prim have all hit two, and Poli has swum one.
Henley and Freyman both set school records last weekend at the ACC Championships. Freyman swam a time of 49.14 in the 100 freestyle, and Henley posted a mark of 1:47.00 in the 200 freestyle. Prim swam the second-best time in the 200 freestyle (1:47.91). All three times were NCAA B cuts. Henley also swam the third-best time in the 100 freestyle (49.63).
Freyman, Henley, Poli, Hendren and Grogg rewrote the record book in the 50 freestyle at ACCs, posting the second, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth best times, respectively, in that event. Freyman and Grogg swam the second and third best times in school history in the 100 backstroke at the same meet, while Poli posted the second best time in the 100 breaststroke.
