RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 23 NC State men's swim team will travel to Christiansburg, Va., to compete in the ACC Championships. The meet will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 22, and conclude on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Wolfpack men are second atop the conference standings, owning a record of 9-2 (6-2 ACC) on the season.
"The men have had a pretty good season thus far, and we look forward to putting the icing on the cake at the ACC Championships," said head coach Braden Holloway. "We know we have to execute our game plan to be successful, and that is our goal."
The meet will start off with two relays on Wednesday night, the 200-medley relay and 800-freestyle relay. Individual events will begin on Thursday.
The NC State men have posted six all-time top-10 marks so far this season. Sophomore Jonathan Boffa has the second-fastest time in the 200 freestyle (1:26.92), the fourth-best time in the 100 freestyle (44.09) and the sixth-best time in the 50 freestyle (20.23). He was also a part of the 400-medley relay that swam a time of 3:17.18, the third-best time in the history of the program.
Michael Camper, who was also a part of the 400-medley relay, swam the 10th-best time in the 200 backstroke (1:48.37) earlier this season. Maxim Litvinov has posted a time of 2:00.56 in the 200 breaststroke, the fifth-best time in school history.
"The men have prepared all year for this weekend,"said Holloway. "We're ready to go back up to Blacksburg and let them see what they can do."
