COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - NC State (3-3) fell to No. 15 Texas A&M (5-2) today in College Station, Texas by a score of 1-0 in the Aggie Classic.  The Pack posted an impressive defensive performance, surrendering only two hits, but was unable to get the bats going against the Aggies.

Emily Weiman put together a stellar performance in the cirlce for the Pack, surrendering one earned run off of only two hits while striking out eight Aggies in the game.

Toni Ann Williford and Katie Mansilla notched the lone hits for the Pack in the contest.

"I am really proud of the way this team fights," said head coach Lisa Navas.  "We just need to put a few things together offensively and we will begin to win a few of these close games.  We are playing top-notch competiton in teams such as Texas A&M, and I am proud of the way this team fought, but I still think we can get better."

Weiman issued two walks in the bottom of the first, but got out of the jam thanks to an excellent catch in foul territory by Bethaney Wells, plus two strikeouts.

In the second frame, Weiman walked the leadoff batter but struck out the next three to maintain the scoreless game.

Texas A&M got on the board in the bottom of the third off of a sacrifice fly. After three full frames of play, the Aggies led the Pack 1-0.

Directly before the beginning of the fourth inning, the game was suspended due to rain.

After nearly a two hour rain delay, Landon Warren led off the fourth inning for the Pack, but Aggie pitcher Mel Dumezich was able to retire NC State's hitters in order.

Weiman stayed sharp throughout the delay and came out firing in the bottom of the fourth, retiring the Texas A&M hitters in order.

The Pack went down in the top of the seventh, falling in the end by a 1-0 margain.
