NC State Associate Athletics Director Sherard Clinkscales has announced that Steve Springthorpe has stepped down from his duties as women’s soccer coach to pursue other professional opportunities.
“I would like to thank the NC State athletic administration for its support of the Pack women’s soccer program,” said Springthorpe. “I wish the team and the department great success in the future.”
Springthorpe just completed his fourth season at the helm of the Wolfpack. He posted a 30-43-4 record since taking over in 2009.
“We appreciate all of Steve’s contributions to the Wolfpack program and wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavors,” said Clinkscales.
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately, led by Clinkscales. Chris Shaw and Dena Floyd will continue in their current roles as assistant coaches, and manage the team in the interim period.
