Women's Tennis To Compete In ITA Kickoff

RALEIGH, N.C. - The women's tennis team will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the ITA Kickoff at the University of Tennessee this weekend. NC State is ranked No. 33 in the nation, according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, which can be found HERE.
The Wolfpack will face No. Tulsa at 10 a.m. on Friday. NC State will then take on either Tennessee or UC Davis on Saturday, depending on the outcome of their respective matches.
If the Wolfpack wins on Friday, they will play at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Should they lose, they will play at 10 a.m. Live stats will be available for all matches HERE. Live streaming will also be available for all matches played against Tennessee.
NC State will be led by No. 40 Joelle Kissell. Kissell had a strong opening weekend, winning both singles matches that she competed in, as well as a double contest with teammate Ashley Miller. Miller also picked up wins in both of her singles matches, playing in the No. 3 position.
Tulsa, ranked No. 22 in the nation, features two ranked singles players, No. 63 Samantha Vickers and No. 78 Anastasia Erofeeva.
No. 19 Tennessee will be tough competition for NC State, should the Lady Vols and the Wolfpack meet on the court Saturday, as they boast three ranked players: No. 24 Natalie Pluskota, No. 27 Brynn Boren and No. 59 Kata Szekely. Tennessee also has the ninth ranked doubles team in the nation, consisting of the duo of Pluskota and Szekely, as well as the No. 18 team, Boren and partner Sarah Toti.
UC Davis, the other possible opponent that NC State could face, is ranked No. 58.
