Wolfpack To Face Clemson On Senior Night

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack swimming and diving teams will return to action on Friday, Jan. 27, at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on campus. NC State will take on conference rival Clemson at 5 p.m.The meet will mark the final home competition for the Wolfpack, and will serve as Senior Night.
The NC State men (7-1, 4-1 ACC) are currently ranked No. 23 in the nation, according to the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll. The Wolfpack owns a combined six NCAA B cuts to date. The 200-, 400-, and 800-freestyle relay teams have all hit the standard, and all three relays are currently ranked fourth in the ACC.
Individually, sophomore Jonathan Boffa leads the team with two NCAA B standards of his own. He currently holds the fourth-best time in the ACC in the 100 free (44.25), and the third-best in the 200 freestyle (1:36.92), both of which are NCAA B cuts. He has also turned in the eighth-best mark in the 50 freestyle (20.32).
Barrett Miesfeld has put up the fastest time in the ACC this season in the 100 butterfly, with his mark of 47.98, good for an NCAA B cut.
Brian Via holds the sixth-best time in the ACC in the 1000 freestyle at 9:22.13, while Brandon Kingston is ranked 10th with his time of 9:23.03. Kingston has also posted the eighth-best time in the 1650 freestyle (15:23.37).
Ian Bishop owns the 10th-best mark in the 100 breaststroke (56.47) in the conference, while Hudson Rains has posted the seventh-best three-meter diving 381.15 mark.
The Wolfpack women own a record of 7-3 (2-3 ACC), and have posted three NCAA B so far this season. As a team, NC State has combined to swim an NCAA B standard of 3:23.94 in the 400-freestyle relay, which is the fifth-best mark in the conference this season.
Two individuals have also hit B cuts in their respective events. Hannah Freyman, who holds the ninth-best time in the ACC in the 100 freestyle, swam a time of 50.08 last weekend for an NCAA B cut. while Julianna Prim has hit the B standard in the 200 butterfly (2:00.48).
Hannah Hopkins has the top mark in the ACC in the one-meter dive, and the fifth-best mark in the three-meter diving event.
Kelsey Liu has the 10th-best time in the conference in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.27).
Following the meet against Clemson, the Wolfpack will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 28, against North Carolina. The competition will begin at 11 a.m., and will take place in Chapel Hill, N.C.
