The Pack then returns to action Sunday to play a doubleheader versus UNC Pembroke at 11 a.m. and East Carolina at 1 p.m. Finally, NC State will conclude tournament action at 5 p.m. versus Campbell.
The fall campaign will serve as a warm-up for the 2012 regular season for the Wolfpack. There have been big changes for the Pack since the close of last season, including the addition of six newcomers and first-year pitching coach Lisa Norris.
Overall, there will be a total of 18 games played in the Ray Chandler Memorial Fall Tournament. In addition to the Pack, other area teams including East Carolina, North Carolina, UNC Greensboro, North Carolina Central, Campbell, Peace College, Louisburg College, Greensboro College and UNC Pembroke will compete this weekend. Games will be played on three fields at Walnut Creek Softball Complex. For a complete schedule, visit the tournament tab on GoPack.com.
Following this weekend's action, the Pack will hit the field again on Saturday, Oct. 15 when the NPF all-stars come to town to battle UNC and NC State in a doubleheader at Curtis and Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium on NC State's campus.
