Pettersson Fires 65 at Wyndham Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Three former NC State men's golfers competed in the first round of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club on Thursday.

2008 champion and Triad native Carl Pettersson posted the best score of the three with a 5-under 65 and is tied for fourth, just two shots off the lead. His round featured five birdies and no blemishes on his card.

Marc Turnesa finished up with a 1-over 71. He also had five birdies, but also recorded six bogeys today.

Jerry Richardson was added to the field on a sponsor's exemption Monday and shot also fired a 71. He finished tied for 49th in this event last season after going through early-week qualifying.
