Pettersson Defends Title at Canadian Open

This week's PGA TOUR stop crosses the United States northern boarder to play the RBC Canadian Open at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, BC. Included in the field is the defending champion of the event, a past champion on tour, a former NCAA titleholder and the 2010 Canadian Amateur champ.
What do these four golfers have in common? They're all linked together by the red and white golf bag they lugged around for NC State and head coach Richard Sykes.
Four-time PGA TOUR winner Carl Pettersson earned a hefty check for his win last season in the 2010 event that was held at St. George's Golf & Country Club in Toronto.
Pettersson addressed the media as seen on this PGATOUR.com video clip.
Marc Turnesa, playing on a Major Medical Extension, is entered into his seventh tour event of the 2011 season. He finished tied for fifth at the Transitions Championsip in Tampa back in March. He won the 2008 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hopsital for Children Open.
2009 NCAA champion Matt Hill is playing his third Canadian Open after receiving an exemption this week to compete in Vancouver. The Bright's Grove, Ontario, native is playing in his home country this summer after committing to four tournaments on the Canadian Tour.
Rising sophomore Albin Choi makes his PGA TOUR debut this week. Coming off an all-america freshman campaign with the Wolfpack, the Toronto native makes the field as the defending Canadian Men's Amateur champion.
