RALEIGH, N.C. -
Three members of the NC State women’s golf team were named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. Rising junior Amanda Baker and rising sophomores Maureen Dunnagan and Brittany Marchand were cited for their performance in the classroom during the 2010-11 season.
Baker carried a 3.7 GPA in business administration, Dunnagan had a perfect 4.0 GPA during her freshman season in sports marketing, while Marchand finished with a 3.8 GPA in chemical engineering her first season.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.5.
Former NC State golfer Julie Saleeby just capped off her remarkable academic career at NC State. She was the class valedictorian graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and was part of Phi Beta Kappa.
