CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The NC State men's 4 X 100-meter relay team of A'Tolani Akinkuotu, T.J. Graham, Benjamin Major III and Tobias Palmer ran its best time of the season, posting a mark of 40.19 seconds Saturday evening at the Dick Taylor Tar Heel Relays at UNC's Belk Track at Fetzer Field.
It's the second week in a row that the current relay lineup has lowered its best time of the season.
In other events at the one-day meet, senior Lamont Savage, junior Emmanuel Davis and sophomore Kris Kornegay-Gober all posted their best marks of the season in the long jump. Savage won the event with a leap of 24-feet, 4 ¼-inches, while Davis was second with a mark of 24-feet, ¾-inch. Kornegay-Gober was fourth at 23-feet, 2-inches.
In the discus, redshirt freshman Nathaniel Williams won the event with a toss of 163-feet, 6-inches. Freshman Jule Rich was second and sophomore Grant Pearce was fourth.
For the Wolfpack women, sophomore Karimah Shepherd posted her best mark of the season with a throw of 19-feet, 9 3/4-inches. Freshman Tremanisha Taylor, competing unattached, won the women's discus with a throw of 159-feet, 5-inches.
Select members of the Wolfpack men's and women's team will be back in action Sunday evening in the Duke Twilight Meet at Wallace Wade Stadium. Live results from the meet are available here and final results also will be available on GoPack.com.
The Wolfpack will compete in its final meet before the NCAA Regional next weekend at the two-day Carolina Qualifier Meet in Chapel Hill.
