River Landing Day One Results
Wallace, N.C. - No. 23 NC State is in fifth place after two rounds at the River Landing Intercollegiate at River Landing Country Club, a par 72, 6,898-yard layout.
The Wolfpack owns a team score of 1-under 575 after rounds of 291 and 284.
Freshman standout Albin Choi is tied for second with a 36-hole score of 7-under 137, four shots behind UNC Wilmington's Josh Brock. Choi was tied for sixth after an opening round 69, before inching his way up the leaderboard with a 68 during the afternoon round. Choi, Brock and David Watkins of Memphis, who is tied with Choi, were the only three competitors to post two sub-70 rounds on the day.
Reigning ACC Player of the Month Mitchell Sutton is tied for 24th at 1-over 145. He shot a 70 in the afternoon round, after a 75 in the morning that had him all the way back in a tie for 53rd through 18 holes.
Junior Mark McMillen is tied for 36th at 3-over 147 after rounds of 75 and even-par 72.
Junior Chad Day and senior Brandon Detweiler are tied for 44th at 4-over 148. Day shot rounds of 73 and 75, while Detweiler recorded a pair of 2-over 74's.
Liberty leads the field at 21-under 555. East Carolina (561) and Memphis (567) make up the top three.
Junior Graham Baillargeon is playing as an individual and is tied for 75th at 11-over 155 after rounds of 81 and 74.
The third and final round gets underway Saturday morning.
