FRIDAY'S NC STATE - DUKE SECOND ROUND MATCH HAS BEEN MOVED TO CHAPEL HILL, N.C., TO UNC'S INDOOR COURTS DUE TO WEATHER CONCERNS.
CARY, N.C. – 28th-ranked NC State takes a short trip to Cary Tennis Park this Thursday to kick off the 2011 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship at 9 a.m. against 46th-ranked Boston College.
The eighth-seeded Pack (14-7, 5-6 ACC) will need a repeat of last weekend’s win over the ninth-seeded Eagles to earn a shot a top-seeded Duke in the second round on Friday at 9 a.m.
If NC State should advance further, the semifinals are scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the championship match slated for 11 a.m. Sunday, April 24.
After combining for a perfect 6-0 record over the Pack’s final weekend, 31st-ranked Sanaa Bhambri and 94th-ranked Sandhya Nagaraj will look to provide a spark at the top of the lineup. Together, the pair ranks 25th-nationally in doubles.
ACC Freshman of the Year candidate Joelle Kissell makes her conference tournament debut this week. During the regular season, Kissell notched a 17-4 record (7-4 in ACC play), and represented half of a 6-2 doubles team alongside Ashley Miller.
Live stats for all Wolfpack matches will be available at GoPack.com, along with a full recap and results at the conclusion of competition.
