ORLANDO, Fla. - The No. 20-ranked NC State men's golf team is in third place after two rounds at the Rio Pinar Invitational at Rio Pinar Country Club.
NC State shot a 36-hole team score of 1-under 575 (291-284). The second round 4-under 284 was the third-lowest score of the second 18 holes played on Monday. The Wolfpack is third among a field of 18 teams.
Senior Brandon Detweiler is tied for seventh to lead the Pack at 3-under 141 (72-69).
Mark McMillen is tied for 23rd at 1-over 145 (75-70).
Mitchell Sutton, Albin Choi and Chad Day are all tied for 28th at 3-over 147.
Host UCF is atop the leaderboard at 19-under 557, 13 shots in front of second-place Liberty at 6-under 570.
Florida Golf Coast's Daniel Mazziotta owns a one-shot advantage at 10-under 134 (65-69).
The third and final round begins Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
