Men's Swimming Continues at ACCs

ATLANTA, Ga. - Two NCAA `B' cut qualifying standards and one all-time top-10 swim highlighted the NC State men's showing on Thursday, Feb. 24 at the ACC Championships.
Brandon Kingston posted a `B' cut and the best time on the roster this season with a 4:28.28 in the 500 freestyle, while Ben Mechak offered a 4:37.35.
Wolfpack relays also hit a `B' cut in the 200-freestyle relay, as Jonathan Boffa, Joe Martin, Barrett Miesfeld and Conor Brennan combined for a 1:20.98, tops on the squad this season.
Ian Bishop offered the ninth-best 200 individual medley in school history with a 1:49.90, while Matt Thomas (1:50.18) and Dan Forsythe (1:51.98) recorded the second and third best times on the team this season. Ivan Kopas (1:52.99), Sean Reams (1:52.99), Kohl Hurdle (1:53.12), Mike Seiferth (1:55.24) and Jake Matysek (1:55.68) also competed.
Boffa (20.56), Martin (20.59) and Miesfeld (20.71) gave the top three 50 freestyles on the roster for the year, while Brennan contributed a 20.73.
The Wolfpack finished the evening in ninth place with 69 total points.
Action will continue at the ACC Championships tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 25.
