Henley, Prim Hit 'B' Cuts at ACC's

ATLANTA, Ga. - Marifrances Henley and Julianna Prim both hit NCAA `B' cut qualifying standards, and NC State women's swimmers posted seven all-time top-10 marks on the third day of action at the ACC Championships.
Henley (1:48.42) and Prim (1:49.18) both scored and hit `B' cuts in the 200 freestyle, with Prim's time marking the fourth-best in school history. Erica Waters (1:50.90), Allison Hendren (1:53.32), Maggie McEnerney (1:55.33) and Ashley Richter (1:56.17) also took part.
Jessica Ward recorded the fourth-best 400 individual medley in school history with a 4:20.39, while Jennifer Kopenitz (4:21.27), Jessica McBroom (4:26.09), Christina McCann (4:29.44) and Kelsey Liu (4:29.69) competed as well.
Ward later scored and posted the third-fastest 100 breaststroke in school history on a 1:03.89, while Meghan Thompson (1:06.35) and McCann (1:07.11) gave strong showings.
Morgan Robertson, Ward, Zina Grogg and Henley captured the second-best 400-medley relay in the Wolfpack annals with time of 3:43.99. Robertson's leadoff leg of 55.20 is the second-quickest 100 backstroke in school history, eclipsing the 55.55 she swam earlier in the evening during the individual event. Kaitlin Mills 55.75 in the 100 backstroke is the third-best in school history, while Bailey Woodling's 56.15 is sixth all-time.
Grogg (56.12), Jordan Paavola (56.55), Thompson (56.73) and McBroom (56.92) all swam in the 100 butterfly, as Hannah Hopkins (281.95) and Kirstyn Shepler (256.25) took part on the 3-meter dive.
The Wolfpack women ended the day in eighth place with 114.5 points.
In men's diving, Chris Arcara scored a 300.90 on the 3-meter dive, while Hudson Rains added a 295.00.
Action will continue on the final day of the ACC Championships tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 19.
