RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's swimming squad, and both the men's and women's divers, will head to Atlanta, Ga. for the ACC Championships, Feb. 16-19, at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
A complete list of events and times, as well as live webcasts and results, will be available throughout the competition via ACC Swimming & Diving Championships Central.
The women's swimming and diving team enjoyed a strong regular season, compiling a 7-3 (3-3 ACC) record with ACC wins over Duke, Georgia Tech and Clemson.
Wolfpack women's swimmers have posted 14 new top-10 all-time marks in individual events on the year. Julianna Prim leads the way with four, including the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly, while Jen Kopenitz (200 butterfly, 200 individual medley) and Kaitlin Mills (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke) each have two. Casey Cooper (100 backstroke), Zina Grogg (100 butterfly), Kelsey Liu (200 breaststroke), Amanda Panty (100 freestyle), Lauren Poore (100 backstroke) and Morgan Robertson (100 backstroke) have each posted one top-10 all-time swim this season.
Two members of the team, Ashley Richter and Marifrances Henley, enter the championships owning school records. Richter holds the school benchmark in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, while Henley owns the best time in the 200 freestyle.
On the diving front, all four Wolfpack divers - Chris Arcara, Hannah Hopkins, Hudson Rains and Kirstyn Shepler - have qualified for the NCAA diving zones. A year ago Hopkins won the ACC title on the platform dive and took All-ACC Honors on both the platform and 3-meter dives, while Shepler also earned all-conference distinction on the platform dive.
