RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack men are ranked No. 19 in the nation in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, as announced today. This marks the first time that the Wolfpack has been in the top-25 poll since the 2006-06 season, when they finished the year at No. 21.
The NC State men, coming off a sweep of Duke and the Savannah College of Art and Design this past weekend, are 4-1 (2-1 ACC) on the year under first-year head coach Braden Holloway.
Sophomore Jonathan Boffa owns the fastest mark in the ACC in the 200 freestyle (1:37.19) and the third best time in the 100 freestyle (44.43), while teammate Barrett Miesfeld holds the top mark in the 100 butterfly (48.74).
As a team, the Wolfpack has the leading time in the conference in the 200 freestyle relay, with an NCAA B standard of 1:21.15.
The ACC has four schools in the top-25 poll. NC State trails only rival UNC, ranked No. 11. Also making the cut are Virginia (No. 21), Virginia Tech (No. 22) and Florida State (No. 23).
