Women's Tennis Continues Play At ITA Regional

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women’s tennis team will continue play today at the ITA Indoor Carolina Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. Senior Tatiana Illova, junior Chloe Smith, sophomores Joelle Kissell and Christy Sipes, and freshman Elisha Hande will all compete in the main draws singles.
Senior Ashley Miller and freshman Sophie Nelson competed yesterday in the qualifying singles round of the tournament, however neither advanced to the next round.
In doubles action, Kissell and Miller defeated the duo of Andrea Rivera and Alex Zinn of Charlotte yesterday afternoon 8-1, and will face No. 5 seed Jaklin Alawi and Dijana Stojic of South Carolina today. Nelson and Sipes topped Josefin Andersson and Katerina Popova of South Carolina 8-6, and will play Tessa Lyons and Caroline Price of North Carolina this morning.
