Arcara Qualifies for Zones at Tri-Meet

DURHAM, N.C. - NC State divers returned to action on Wednesday, taking part in an informal meet in nearby Durham against Duke and UNC Wilmington. Chris Arcara highlighted the Wolfpack portion of the event by qualifying for NCAA Diving Zones although team points were not allotted during competition.
Arcara qualified for zones and took fourth overall in the 1-meter dive with a 337.10, while Hudson Rains placed sixth on a 304.55
"Chris had a great day," said diving coach Jenny Keim Johansen. "He used a brand new dive for the first time, and he performed really well to make everything fall in place. Qualifying for the NCAA zones is a great achievement for him."
Hannah Hopkins took third on the 1-meter with a 278.95, while Kirstyn Shepler's 277.05 was good for fourth.
NC State swimming and diving will return to action at home against Georgia Tech on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. The event, which will serve as Senior Day, will be held on campus at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center and is free to all fans of Wolfpack athletics.
