RALEIGH, N.C. - The 2011 season holds a special meaning for head coach Lisa Navas and the Wolfpack softball program--it marks the fifth anniversary of the 2006 ACC Championship for the Wolfpack. So, to celebrate this occasion, the program will hold an alumni weekend January 22 and 23.
Over the course of the two days, former Pack softball players will have a chance to reunite and reminisce, as well as meet the 2011 NC State softball team.
In fact, on Saturday, Jan. 22, the alumni will have a chance to prove they can still play by taking on the current players in a scrimmage game at noon at Jacqueline and Curtis Dail Softball Stadium on campus.
In addition, Coach Navas and the Wolfpack staff will invite the alumni to attend NC State's men's basketball game on Sunday, Jan. 23 to cheer on the squad against Miami at noon.
The alumni game is open to the public, and all Wolfpack fans are encouraged to attend in order to catch a sneak peek of the 2011 Pack softball team, as well as enjoy the opportunity to watch former players in action.
NC State softball opens the 2011 season on February 10 against USF in Tampa, Fla.
