Henry Wins Shot Put at VT Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - NC State junior thrower Lawanda Henry continued her excellent weekend performance by winning the women's shot put on Saturday at the Virginia Tech Invitational with a throw of 15.18 meters.
On Friday, the first day of 16-team competition at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House, the three-time ACC champion Henry was second in the weight throw.
Sophomore Karimah Shepherd was fifth in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.75 meters.
For the NC State men, sophomore T.J. Graham, who won the 60-meter dash on Friday, was sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.06 seconds on Saturday.
Kris Kornegay-Gober was fourth in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.05 meters. Kwame Boatwright was sixth in the long jump at 6.89 meters and sixth in the triple jump at 14.59 meters.
Both Miles Walker and James Robinson finished in the top 10 of the 500-meter dash, with Walker finishing ninth with a time of 1:05.24 and Robinson finishing 10th with a time of 1:05.80.
